Playby:Anna Paquin
Name: Sookie Stackhouse
Age: Twenty-Three
Sexual Orientation: Straight
Species: Human
Physical Description: One could easily label Sookie as an all American Southern Sweetheart, by looks alone, but there is so much more to her looks that just that. Her hair is the color of Summer Wheat, a warmer hue of blonde, with natural highlights, lightened by the sun. She has blue eyes, though if you look closer, they are more of a grey-blue hue, than a simple blue. She is an obviously pretty girl, though she isn't without fault. She has a noticeable gap between her front two teeth, but she believes it adds character to her face.
She stands a full five foot six inches tall in her bare feet and weighs approximately a hundred and ten pounds. She typically dresses in shorts and t-shirts, weather permitting, and perhaps even a sundress now and again.
Attitude: Sookie has an uncontrollable empathy for those less fortunate, and while she battles with her own sense of practicality she usually finds herself going out of her way to make someone elses day easier. While generally sweet and caring with all the charm of a plantation débutante, she is also extremely passionate and often displays a fierce temper when feeling threatened, cornered, or offended. She is determined and often stubborn to a fault.
She is very old-fashioned when it comes to manners, often coming across as reserved and polite . She's not the type to be quick to judge and is quite welcoming to strangers, which has at times got her in a little hot water, with her brother, who often talks to her about being too trusting at times.[/size]

History: Sookie was a very happy child, at least for a little while, and then her abilities began to prove to be a bit out of sorts. No longer was it acceptable for speak of things that only other people knew in their own heads. It couldn't simply be chattered away as a silly thing of 'Kids say the darnest things.'
Shortly after Sookie turned seven and Jason turned ten, their parents were involved in a horrible car accident, which stole both their lives, Sookie and Jason, who were visiting their grandmother at the time were having lunch, when the call came in. Adele Stackhouse, their grandmother, tried to muffle her own feelings, though Sookie instantly read her grandmother's mind, and knew what had happened, and started to scream.
Sookie's best friend, Tara came over and tried to comfort her, and it worked somewhat, as Sookie was still a bit young to understand the finality of death.
School proved difficult, as Sookie was able to read the minds, and she didn't quite have a buffer on what she blurted out, and so, soon, the whole town knew that Sookie had an 'ability'. Sookie worked hard to keep her mouth shut, and tried desperately to keep the thoughts from interrupting her life. After awhile, it eased some, but she wasn't completely over it, of course.
Sookie was sixteen when she started working for Sam Merlotte, at his bar and grille. There were casual flirtations between Sam and Sookie, but nothing serious, and throughout the next couple of years, she has had relationships that have ended in breakups, though none leaving her truly upset, as she didn't view any as serious.
Sookie talked to Sam about hiring Tara, since Tara was in need of a job, and soon Tara was hired on. The two spend a lot more time together now. Jason frequents the Bar, though she wonders when a brawl of women will happen, due to her brother's promiscuous ways.

Such a strange dream, though Sookie felt alive, felt as though she belonged in the dream world, this world in which everything was brighter, more safe somehow, not that Bon Temps was a dangerous place, more so, it was one of the most safest places in the world, or so Sookie believed.
A strange ringing sound interrupted the dream, and though she tried to clutch to the dream, the warmth of the sun bathed over her, the light of which passing across her eyelids. A faint grunt, and the sheet she was tangled in was kicked off. She slowly lifted herself from the bed, and surely, as she reached the phone in her bedroom, the ringing stopped.
Sookie looked longingly towards the bed, it was after all her day off, though a glance to the alarm clock beside her bed mentioned that it was already ten thirty in the morning. Sunlight was wasting! With a new vigor to her steps, she moved about to grasp her new bathing suit; a white solid background, with teeny spots of roses adorned upon it, which from further away, appeared to be a polka-dot bathing suit.
She was just about to get into the shower, when her grandmother called from the floor below. "Shug! That was Sam, he needs ya ta call him! Says he needs you to cover a shift. Says he'll make it up ta ya!"
The excitement for sunbathing slithered down the drain. "Alright, Gran! I'll call him! Thanks!" And with that, she dialed the bar.
"Merlotte's Bar and Grille, Sam speakin'." The familiar voice perked in. "Sam, it's me." "Sookie, thanks for calling back. One of the new girls quit on me, and I need my best girl to cover it. Please?" Sookie sighed. How she wished she could simply tell someone 'No' without feeling guilty.
"Give me a few, I'll shower and be there soon."
