Tell me about your history.:
I was born in 425 B.C. to a nobleman and his wife. I was a strong and fair male child, looked admirably upon by many other nobles who had infant daughters. When I was 4, I was betrothed to Genesis, the 1 year old daughter of a noble of equal rank. We spent every summer together at a common summer home in order for us to stay acquainted. I remember chasing her with a lizard when I was seven and she was 4, as she ran away screaming, it was a dead rat the following summer. I looked forward to tormenting her every summer with pranks and foolish little boy silliness. But I think she enjoyed it just as much since I was often getting pushed into the pond or hit with mud cakes.
As I grew into my teen years, the pranks became less desirable and I would find myself spying on her from behind bushes or around corners. She was no longer the little girl whose pigtails I once would pull and steal the ribbons from. She was becoming a woman. It was at her 15th birthday celebration that it was planned for me to propose formally. A grand ball was thrown and everything went off flawlessly. As I approached her with the small box I held in my hand, I could not help but think how beautiful she was and that I was truly lucky to have fallen in love with my betrothed. When I reached her I fell to one knee and opened the box to reveal an engagement ring. My eyes filled with tears when hers did and she extended her delicate hand for me to place the ring on her finger. She agreed to marry me. Even if she didn’t we didn't have a choice but we did want to. We were in love. It was moments after the ring was on her finger and I had time for one chaste kiss when a battle beaten soldier ran through the doors shouting of enemy attack. I had no choice but to go to war with the rest of the young men of the kingdom.
A year of war and painful separation had be tired. Her letters were my only solace and kept me going through the harsh winter and the dreadfully hot summer. We were well on our way to winning the war and driving the enemy from our borders. We all knew that within a few weeks we would be on the march for home. That was when I got the letter…………….
Apollo, that arrogant bastard had claimed my beloved. She wrote me the letter and it was brought to me by horseman courier immediately. He words were distraught and filled with terror and nothing but love for me. I knew that no matter what happened, I would always love her, no matter what that animal did to her. But I had to try to stop it, more for her sake than for mine. I grabbed my sword and pulled the courier from his horse and with the letter clutched tightly in my hand, I rode hard until I arrived at the temple of Apollo. He I saw him climb on top of her, ready to violate her. I let out a scream of rage like nothing I have ever heard come from me. He moved away from her and tried to fill my head with lies, telling me I should be proud to let him have my betrothed. “It won’t hurt…for long.” His words filled me with such disgust and anger. “You will not take her!” I shouted and ran at him with my sword.
Just when I thought my sword would strike true, he parried and dodged. I spun to swing again but he was to fast and struck the sword from my hand. I attacked again but with my bare hands. Once again he bested me. But he was a god, what could I expect?
The next thing I knew he used his godly powers to shove me against the wall and immobilize me. I couldn’t move, I couldn’t speak, and I couldn’t close my eyes. I wanted to tell her it was alright; that I would always love her; that this was not her fault. But I couldn't speak and she wouldn’t look at me. That is until the brute was finished with her and sliced her throat open. Then I heard the last words she would say to me. She loved me. Then my world died.
Of course Apollo thought this was very funny and left me there in my sorrow and misery. I buried my beloved. I tried to move on but I could not. I had no reason to live. I wanted to die. So I went back to war. I became known as a brutal and fierce warrior without fear. I did not fear death, I begged for it. But death would run from me. I knew I had to die doing my best or I would not get to be with her in the afterlife. So I did. I was 25 when I was finally struck down on the battlefield. As I lay there I laughed. I was going to die and be with my beloved again and there was nothing Apollo could do about it. Or was there?
I suddenly looked up in to the eyes of Apollo himself. He had a malicious grin on his face. “So you think to die and end your punishment for disrespecting your god?” My heart fell and filled with fear. “No so little man. You will not die. You will never die. Your beloved will die however, and be reborn, somewhere within 100 kilometers of where she died. You will always know her by her jade green eyes, but if her eyes meet yours, she will die within hours.” He let out and evil laugh. “Good bye, little man, enjoy your existence.” Then he was gone. I haven’t seen him since.
So I cannot die, but she dies every few years, rarely making it through an entire lifetime for she seems to be drawn to me. I find her again each time she dies and do my best to keep my distance. I have to find a way to stop this. Why won’t the other Gods help? I don’t know how, but I swear, it will be in this lifetime that I break this curse.
So, what do you like to eat?
I don’t eat much. I guess I eat ice cream more than anything else, oh and breaded fish fillets…not together though.
What foods make you hurl?
Most food is unappetizing
What do you like to do?
I don’t have time for hobbies. I spend most of my time looking for Genesis, thinking of Genesis and pining for Genesis.
That’s some attitude, want to tell me about it?
I have a one track mind. I have to find my love then figure out a way to be with her without Apollo killing her. You would think he would have grown tired of this game by now but he hasn’t. Centuries of this has made me melancholy and mentally exhausted. But I will not give up.
So, what’s so good about you?
I’m strong, determined and intelligent.
Do you have any flaws?
I’m melancholy, speak to softly, and I do nothing but follow Genesis around.
Other:
What else can you tell me?
(Anything else we need to know?)
Can you do anything cool?
I will never grow old and I will never die.
