He attended the University of Washington and got his masters in Architectural Engineering. While in college, he met Liz, the love of his life, keeper of his soul. It wasn't long before they were married. She got an advanced degree in Zoology and was working on having an exhibit created for a gorilla at the Seattle Zoo. Being and architectural genius, Rob took the job of designing and building the exhibit. They tried for three years to conceive a child but they were never able to. It turned out, she was barren. She tried to convince him to leave her but instead he bought her a puppy. The dog became their child and she spoiled him rotten. Eventually, they ran out of money for the exhibit so they threw a fund raiser to get the money they needed. A mysterious benefactor donated a million dollars. They were not going to have to worry about money for the exhibit. They danced the night away, having an incredible time. They danced every dance and drank champagne until they were ready to go home. Rob was driving. He was not intoxicated at all so as much as he would like to, he can’t blame himself. On the way home a man on a motorcycle cut him off. He hit the brakes but on the rain soaked street, the car slid into an intersection just as the light turned red. That was when the truck hit their car. His wife was killed on impact. One year later, Rob now lives in their small home with their dog trying to keep it together. He is still working to finish the exhibit, it is the one thing he has left that he can do for his wife. He has to make his wife’s dream come true or he will go mad. Recently a letter came from the person who received his wife’s heart since his wife was an organ donor. He hasn’t been able to read it.

Rob pushed the heavy door open and stepped into the quiet entryway of his home. His friend Ben was right behind him, following solemnly.
“I’ve got to walk Moe.” He said as if his torn tuxedo shirt wasn't covered in his wife’s blood and his arm wasn't bandaged from hand to elbow.
“I left the hospital a few hours ago, I came by and took him to the park.” His friend said quietly to assure him he didn't need to worry about his dog. That was the last thing Rob needed to worry at right now.
“Ok…thanks.” Rob replied numbly as his gaze fell on a note pinned to the wall. “Honey, don’t forget to pick up my black dress from the dry cleaners, Love, Love Me.’ He read it and re-read it. He felt his friends hand on his back and he barely heard him say he was going to stay. Rob shook his head, “No, No…” he said softly. His friend nodded then told him he would pick his parents up from the airport in the morning and told him to call him if he needed him. One strong hug later, his friend walked out into the night.
Rob looked up to see Moe standing at the door, looking for her, waiting for her to come in the door. He sighed softly and walked over to the door. He sank to the floor and took the dogs face in his hands, looking him in the eye. “She’s not coming home.” He said softly. As if saying the words made it all reality, Rob slid to the floor the rest of the way. Tears began to stream down his face and he curled into a ball on the floor sobbing. His dog lay on the floor next to him, still not understanding.
