History: Rhett’s POV: If I thought he was insane before, I am now convinced of that. Everything he does, he says it is in the name of God. But when he captured the angel and claimed that she was a gift from god, to give him a righteous son, I knew he had snapped his twig. I don’t know how it happened but somehow he killed that angel to get her human eggs that held her angelic essence. The genetic nanotechnology he used to enhance the tiny human he created was iffy. I was surprised the child lived. But then, how could he have forgotten the child? I must say I am glad he did. I checked on the child daily. I put a CD player on his chamber and played classical music. That short sighted, heartless scientist that was in charge of the experiment always turned it off. He called the child an ‘it’ and a thing. I called him Adam…
The day VanHelsing called for all cloning projects to be scrapped due to the failure of the Super Human Soldier project, I know Adam would be on the list to be destroyed before he even had a chance to take his first breath, by this time, he was fully developed, appearing between 16 and 18. So I had to take matters into my own hands. I went my private stash of C4 charges and set up a distraction by blowing up a new wing that was under construction. In the chaos, I got Adam out of his chamber and onto a gurney. He didn’t start breathing on his own right away, his body had been gestated in that pink goo and it didn't want to assimilate to breathing oxygen. I tried CPR at first but I didn't have time to keep trying and he wasn't responding. So I threw him over my shoulder and got him out of there and into the woods. It was there that I did CPR, it seemed like forever. Nothing was working. Finally I called out to God for help. He never has let me down in times of need. That was when Adam took his first breath. He looked at me with the eyes of a newborn baby. It was then that I realized that I loved him like he was my own son, tears streamed down my face as I gazed into his. “Happy Birthday, Adam.” I said with a smile. But then I heard people coming, they had discovered Adam was gone. “Stay here.” I knew he didn't understand me but I had to lead the men away. I ran off into the woods after covering him with branches and leaves, and caused the men to follow me. By the time I was able to get back to him, he was gone. It didn't take me long to find out where he went, by then, there was nothing I could do about it…other than create a false report of a 16 year old boy missing from a car wreck were the parents were killed, leaving him an orphan with no family other than an uncle who worked for the government and was not in a position to take care of him, that uncle is me. I explained his lack of a belly button away, saying he had problems with his organs being in the wrong place when he was born and the corrective surgery left him without one. They bought it. I agreed to remain financially responsible for Adam if they would place him in foster care. They bought that too. Let’s just hope the Agency doesn’t catch on. If they do, I’ll have to take him and run. I will die before VanHelsing gets his hands on my boy.
Charlie Swans POV: It wasn’t the craziest thing I had ever seen but it ran a close second. I got the call just after breakfast about some naked kid walking around in the woods. Some hiker found him. Just what I needed on a sunny day. It seemed all the craziest things happened on sunny days, everyone lost their minds. When we found the kid, he wouldn’t speak other than the words, “Happy Birthday, Adam.” So we assumed that was his name. We took him back to the station and got him cleaned up. We sent that pink goo to the lab to have it analyzed. It somehow disappeared on the way to the lab. The boy seemed to be looking at the world for the first time. His childlike innocence made everyone around him love him immediately. It even affected a hard case like me. There was no way I was sending this kid to Seattle. That would be a bad thing. We searched the database and found that he fit the description of a missing boy who’s parents died in a car accident. We thought it was a little odd that he didn't have a belly button but that was easily explained once we found his relative. There was one living relative, an uncle, but he didn’t have a place for the boy and agreed to be financially responsible for the boy if we could place him in foster care. The thing was, the boy was freakishly intelligent, soaking up everything he saw. I needed to place him with someone smart. So, I thought, why not the science teacher over at the high school. He was a nice guy and thought it was what he called a “brilliant” idea. So, I placed the boy in his care. I wish that boy the best.
David Gallifrey’s POV: It was just before the end of school when Chief Swan approached me. He had a boy who needed a home. At first I was going to tell him I had my hands full with Liam but then when he told me the boy was exceptionally intelligent, I had to see for myself. After talking to him for only a few minutes, I found this boy to be more than intelligent, he was a genius. I agreed to take him in. He regained his ability to speak in only a day, but if my deductions are correct, this boy never did know how to speak. There was a reason he looked at the world as if he was brand new…he was. The explaination about his lack of a belly button is weak at best. There is no way there would not be even the slightest bit of scaring. There is another explanation. Of that I am certain. But I am tactful enough to keep this to myself. Something happened to this boy and it seems there has to be a good reason to keep his secret. The only memory he has is of the face of his uncle. He doesn’t know when or where the memory came from but at least it proves he knows the man. Just how he knows him, I don’t know, but I have a feeling about people and his uncle Rhett is a good man, only looking out for the interests his nephew. For now, we will try to make life as normal as possible for the boy. High school, socialization, these things are important for a boy. Then there is his education. I have a feeling that I am his best bet when it comes to teaching him.
Adam’s POV: I woke up to a man blowing air into me. That is the first thing I remember. I was grateful that he helped me breathe. His smile was a nice thing to see. “Happy Birthday, Adam.” This sound came from his mouth. It was curious. What did it mean? Then he looked frightened, “Stay here.” More sounds. Then he ran away. I wondered why he ran away and left me there. I stayed there for a few minutes until I began to notice everything around me. The colors, the sounds, the way everything around me felt. I sat up and I heard a sound. There was a creature making a rattling sound. It was long and its tail shook. That was where the sound came from. It was staring at me. I had the distinct impression that it was warning me. It moved to strike me but I caught it. I studied it for a moment before throwing it away and it scurried off into the woods. I decided to go look for the man. I got up and began to walk. I must have walked for hours before I found a man. It was not the man I was looking for. He was surprised to see me, quite concerned about my lack of clothing. I was cold, that was certain. He threw a blanket over me and spoke into a tiny box. I wanted to go look for the man but this man kept me there until another came and got me. I discovered then, that the sounds they were making was a form of communication. So, I communicated with the only sounds I heard before I met them. “Happy Birthday, Adam.” This was when they began referring to me as Adam. They took me to a new place, made me stand under a stream of warm water, taught me about soap. I like soap, it’s fun. Then they put clothes on me, like they wore. I was warm now. They all seemed very busy trying to help me. They let me draw and solve puzzles. Then the man came. I guess he is my uncle and I have amnesia from an accident. And my parents are dead. I’m not sad because I don’t remember them. They told me I was going to live with a science teacher and he could teach me many things. This made me happy. I want to learn everything. I want to know everything.

Everyone was scurrying around like they had a place to be. Adam supposed hisplace to be in on this bench. The doctor told him to wait there while he enrolled him in school. He hoped being enrolled wasn’t a painful thing. He watched as the young people laughed and chatted with each other as they took books and other things out of the wall. This was the first time he saw little doors in a wall. There were a lot of new things for him, as a matter of fact, almost everything was new to him.
He flinched when the loud sound rang through the halls and everyone began moving much faster and seemed to be in a hurry to get to the next place they belonged. He got up and began to walk down the hall. He was shoved from side to side as people rushed past him. He smiled at a girl who smiled at him and said “Hi.” He liked how friendly the girls were. He didn’t like the looks he got from some of the guys. A group of girls walked passed him as they giggled and stared. “Dibs on the new guy.” One of them said. He didn’t know what it meant but it didn’t make the other girls happy.
Then suddenly everyone was gone and he was standing in the hall alone. He wondered where they all went and where he was supposed to be. Suddenly a hand was on his arm, he turned to smile at his guardian, Dr. Gallifrey. He was happy to see him and happy he was taking him to where he was supposed to be.
