Background:
So tell me about yourself.
Obviously, you already know my name. But, you don't know my past. I was born Adele Cynthia Young, on September 17, 1971, My parents were wealthy, because my father was a surgeon, and my mother was a nurse. Because of the long hours they always worked, I was raised by a nanny for most of my life, up until I was old enough to stay home, alone. I never really played with the other children in my neighborhood, because my parents were scared I would become injured. But, I still had fun.
When I was 22, I married my husband Nathan, and became Adele Hanilen. Nathan was a wonderful man, and he was also an interning neurologist, in his final year of medical school. I myself was in my last year of college, about to graduate with my degree in biochemistry. I wanted to be a scientist more than a doctor. About six months after graduation, I was offered a job in a pharmaceutical company, working on new drugs for various ailments. It was a job I loved, and I worked at that company for almost 20 years. My life changed forever when my husband died three years ago.
We were on vacation, and my husband had surprised me with a trip to Vancouver, British Colombia. We were hiking on a nearby nature trail, when something attacked Nathan. I didn't understand what it was, but after it was done with my husband, I just left. All I remember was looking at my husband, and seeing blood everywhere. After returning home, I immersed myself in research, trying to figure out what had really killed him. The police said it was an animal, but I don't believe them. It was a vampire. I know it was.
After 1 1/2 years, I moved to the state of Washington, to a small home near Port Angeles. There, I waited to find work, still mourning Nathan's murder after all this time. One day, I was approached by a man, whose name was Abraham VanHelsing. He knew about the truth behind Nathan's murder, and he offered me a job, doing research on ways to eradicate supernatural beings. I took that job, and since them, I've been working non-stop, enjoying my work.
Who do you belong to?
When Nathan died, I lost the true family I had.
Where do you live?
Just outside of Port Angeles, but I'm not home that often, except to pay the bills.
Are you in school?
I'm old enough to be a professor. I don't think so.
Personality:
So, what do you like to eat?
I love to eat coconut shrimp, broccoli with cheese, and tomato soup.
What foods make you hurl?
I pinch my nose at hot dogs. God knows what's in them...
What do you like to do?
I like performing experiments, immersing myself in my research, and gardening.
That’s some attitude, want to tell me about it?
Before I lost Nathan, I loved to be spontaneous. I was very loving, willing to do just about anything for anyone. When Nathan died, I became cold, like stone. I only cared about my work. That is all I cared about.
So, what’s so good about you?
I'm incredibly hard-working and quick on my feet. I also don't take crap from others, and am quick to defend myself with confidence.
Do you have any flaws?
I've become very emotionless, but I have a quick temper. But, it's usually toward someone not doing their work correctly, or in a timely manner. If I see a supernatural, I don't care about them. I only see an opportunity to learn.
Other:
What else can you tell me?
I'm a workaholic. I have my own room at the Agency's compound, just so I don't have to return home every night.
Can you do anything cool?
I'm incredibly smart, that's all. I would think it's a talent.
Show us your stuff
Really? I think not.
